Kocha House

In the heart of St Matthews, a key regeneration area of Leicester, providing a new contemporary offer for SME companies.

Kocha House is a large mixed-use apartment scheme made up of commercial spaces on the ground floor and 28 apartments on the upper floors. The scheme will be a catalyst for future development and regeneration in the local area of St Matthews.

DSA worked closely with Leicester City Council to seek planning permission to create a balance between much-needed employment spaces as well as housing which will be a mixture of private and social housing.

DSA were mindful of the site context when developing the contemporary design and choosing a material palette of, facing brickwork, glass, dark aluminium frames and cladding. The new development will also see the installation of a green roof on the upper floor for communal use.

The street level will be made of active frontages and increased activity with retail, eateries and other commercial offerings. The scheme maximises the developable area whilst ensuring it sits well within its setting.
